What are Soap Nuts?
Soap nuts are shells from the soapnut berry which contain saponin that produces a soaping, lathering effect. Saponin is a 100% natural alternative to chemical laundry detergent and cleansers.

History of Soap Nuts?
Soap nuts have been used for centuries throughout the world as a laundry detergent. They are most common in China, India (where they are grown), parts of Europe and many country is the East, however due to the many environmentally friendly qualities it is now being used in the West.

Benefits of Soap Nuts
Soap nuts are a safe natural alternative to normal chemical detergents. It is a 100% vegetable detergent providing a soft cleansing effect on linen with great deep cleaning abilities. Scentless and biodegradable, soapnuts give back natural soft linens without the addition of softeners. They are also non-allergenic and hypoallergenic meaning they are kind to humans and pets.

How Soap Nuts work
All you need to do is either:
• Put 5-8 soapnuts in a laundry bag and add them in with your load of washing. They can be used 2-3 times and then composted, or
• Boil your soap nuts in water to form a natural laundry detergent liquid and pour it into the detergent compartment in your washing machine.
